A short biography is in order, to introduce this little website and myself, Christa, to the web. I came to this beautiful and amazing country in 1959 and was transplanted to Ohio from Berlin,Germany. The profound differences between the two countries surprised me, especially the cuisine, which left me famished most of the time, during the first year in the US. My new in-laws must have thought that I was the biggest snob ever, because I scoffed at the sight of pizza with it's warm cheese-topping and also creamed tomatoes, among many other foods! The cultural differences were understandably great between the laid-back Ohio and the World-City Berlin.

My English is self-taught and to this day this still shows in the way I write. Many years ago my job was that of a seamstress and thereafter, I took 25 years off to raise our six children. Since 1994 I am retired from a job that I entered just on a whim, at the age of 48, after I applied on a dare, without prior experience. The boss liked my enthusiasm and hired me on the spot, which was totally unexpected. Ten years I worked for the Department-Store, in various managerial positions, until my husband was diagnosed with severe heart disease and needed by-pass surgery. He was doing well, but now 13 years later he has yet another hurdle to overcome called Lymphoma. We mistakenly thought, that once he retired after 30 years from an auto-plant, we would travel this great Country in an RV at our leisure, but for now this can only be a dream. So therefore I might as well dream big about those exciting places I have named below!
