Buffy and Sassy
Inspired by the Taco Bell doggie, I just had to have a Chihuahua.
We apparently searched during the wrong time of the year, because none could be found, except this neglected little runt.
We named herBuffy and eventually she had every Chihuahua affliction possible, due to bad breeding. We loved her anyway, but she was clearly my dog. The proof came when I had a 10 day hospital stay.
Normally I sat by my computer in the evening, as Buffy slept in her little bed only about 4 ft away from me. So in her mind it was our room, hers and mine, since she would not even let my husband enter there, during my hospital stay. Mind you, there was this little 3 pound doggie, holding grownups at bay and chasing everyone away from the door of our room.
After I returned from the Hospital, she had no problem with others entering this room.
At the age of only 6 years, she left us behind, to go over the rainbow-bridge. Her trachea had collapsed, an affliction of many small dog breeds. It nearly broke my heart.
About 6 month later, we were ready for another doggie, which we found with the help from our Vet.
Sassy was an "only child" and is growing into a large Chihuahua! Now at only 5 month of age, she weighs already more then 6 pounds and is clearly not the demure little thing that Buffy was. Sassy is much stronger and has limitless energy. She thinks that furniture are for her to jump on, pillows for her to chew, newspapers to shred and dropped sox are meant for her to quickly pick up and run with!
Someday I hope to be able to train this little bundle of energy, but for now it feels like that she has US trained!
